On July 10, 2025, Dr. Mischa Blaszczyk received the Gert Massenberg Prize for his dissertation “Forward and inverse multiscale modeling of cancellous bone considering the full coupling of mechanical, electrical and magnetic effects” during the semester concert at RUB.
In his dissertation, Dr. Blaszczyk focuses on a diagnostic procedure for the early detection of osteoporosis that uses ultrasound for the early diagnosis of this disease. Taking mechanical, electrical, and magnetic effects into account, he uses modeling and simulation to investigate the use of this procedure as a possible and promising diagnostic method. The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Dr. Klaus Hackl (Chair of Mechanics - Materials Theory).
